North Tyneside Mothers CAN Meet in January
Mothers CAN (Mothers’ Climate Action Network)
Mothers CAN is a brand new network of mothers from across the country. We’re supporting mums to take action in local communities, and creating a national platform for mothers’ voices to be heard. If you’re worried about climate change but not sure what more you can do – join us!
To get involved, visit our website, where you can sign up for Mothers CAN updates and find out more about getting mums together in your local area. You can also share your views through Mothers CAN Talk Climate, which asks a few simple questions about what you think on climate and the future you want for your children.
To get in touch, send us an email to hello@mothers-can.org, and follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
We’ve had a sudden flurry of interest in setting up Mothers CAN groups in the North East which is great news. We’ve scheduled three initial ‘Meets’ for mums in Newcastle, South Tyneside, and North Tyneside for January. These are initial meetings for anyone interested in finding out more – they really focus on creating a space for mums to share their feelings about climate change and getting to know each other. Then if people are interested in meeting again we’ll host second Meets where we start to look more at the local area, what the mums are interested in, and what we might be able to change. We’re doing one for each of the three areas with the hope that various local groups will form, but it doesn’t really matter too much if people end up attending from not quite the right area at this stage.
