Are you a Climate Pioneer?

Frontline climate action charity, Ashden have just launched the 2022 Ashden Awards to discover and raise up the climate pioneers transforming the world of work across the UK.

Entries to our 3 UK awards are free and now open online until 15 March 2021.  Winners will receive a grant of £10,000, a promotional film made about their work and access to publicity and networking opportunities – including connections to investors, funders and the media.

As we move towards a low-carbon Britain, everyone’s work will be affected by the huge changes, and challenges, that lie ahead. The UK Government have stated their ambition to create 2 million green jobs by 2030, however there is currently a massive shortage of trained individuals to fill those jobs.

Over the next two months, we’ll be working to uncover those already boosting green skills and decent work –  upgrading our draughty buildings, installing new low carbon heating systems, and accelerating the transition to a more inclusive, green economy in the UK.

Can you help us find the most exciting innovations for our three UK awards in the following areas:

  • Greening All Work – SMEs who are helping employees develop the skills for low carbon work and transforming their processes to meet the demands of climate change
  • Skills in Low Carbon Sectors – organisations that are delivering skills training in the low carbon economy, such as low carbon heat, nature restoration and the repair economy, equipping learners with the tools to gain employment in the green sector
  • Energy Innovation – innovation in sustainable energy generation, improved energy efficiency or reducing the energy used to make materials, creating new and better jobs in green industries

Further details on criteria, eligibility and information on how to apply can be found here.

Applicants can enter online at Ashden.org now until 15 March 2022.
