Following on from COP26, the North East and Yorkshire Energy Hub has funding available for organisations including community groups, charities and businesses to bid for small energy/sustainability activities. Organisations can apply for £2k-£10k of funding. Further information within the attached guidance on the types of projects that could be funded.
The deadline for bids is 11 February.
Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 are available to support organisations in the North East, Tees Valley, Yorkshire and Hull areas to undertake carbon reduction activities. The total grant pot available is up to £72,000.
This grant cannot be used for ongoing running or core costs of an existing service. However, an appropriate contribution to project management costs core management costs can be included.
Purpose of the COP26 Legacy Grants
We want to help organisations in our area to undertake action on carbon reduction.
We are providing grants to community groups, businesses, charities, and other similar organisations that are keen to take action to address climate change. This funding opportunity aims to support a range of carbon-cutting projects that reduce energy use and resource waste in buildings, organisations, or communities. These might include installing energy efficient lighting in a building, buying community assets such as hot-boxes for food waste, or installing a communal electric car-charging point.
We can support the following types of organisation:
- Community Groups
- SME businesses (up to 249 FTE employees)
- Registered charities or Charitable Incorporated Organisations (registered with the Charity Commission)
- Town and Parish Councils
- Schools and colleges
- Sole Traders
