NEECCo was joined by Groundwork in the latest of our Lunch and Learn webinar series to learn more about their Ouseburn Climate Challenge Project. The project, is working within the Ouseburn catchment area to improve water quality, engage with local communities and provide education about water in relation to rainfall, drinking, waste and more.
The 6 month project has been funded by a Water Environment Improvement grant and National Lottery Heritage grant to work with partners to deliver capital and revenue work.
Taking advice from the Ouseburn Citizen’s Jury and a steering group including NEECCo, Northumbrian Water, Environment Agency, Tyne Rivers Trust and Groundwork, the project will focus on the Ouseburn River catchment and increase participation through better access, engagement, volunteering and training.
